We are delighted to introduce Dr. Natalia Baires as our BU Star for April! Dr. Baires recently served as a guest co-editor for a special issue of Behavior Analysis in Practice titled “Impactful Leaders – Latin American Women in Behavior Analysis.”
Natalia is passionate about compassion! As an English-Spanish bilingual clinician, she endeavors to adapt Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Spanish-speaking caregivers of individuals with developmental disabilities. And she is interested in helping us all better understand language, particularly the importance of listening, to combat racism and systemic discrimination.
She has served in academic settings, collaborating with her peers to guide research that builds upon work in these areas. And she’s also dedicated time serving on boards, including as former President of the Illinois Association for Behavior Analysis, and a former Board Member at Large for the Southern California Chapter of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, to name just two.
Natalia brings her unique perspectives to us next week in a webinar presentation:
Cultural responsiveness in action: Tools to enhance self-awareness in ABA services.
Join us for this live webinar and enhance your skills to further build cultural competency.
Until next time,
